The first GWO Offshore Wind Power Training Center in Northern Taiwan
The Chinese University of Hong Kongand Haiso Energy for offshore wind power industry development talent needs, joined forces to establish the first offshore wind power in Northern Taiwan GWO (Global Wind Energy Organization) wind training center "Taiwan wind training", 1 held the inauguration ceremony and equipment donation ceremony, Hsinchu Mayor Gao Hong-an,Energy Bureau, Ministry of Economic AffairsDeputy Secretary Mr. Lee Kwan Lai, Legislative Councilor Ms. Tong Wai Ching and Hsinchu County Councilor Mr. Lin Yu-You attended the ceremony to congratulate the guests.
Liu Weiqi, President of Chunghwa University, said that in response to the government's efforts to promote offshore wind power net zero carbon emission policy, the school started from the offshore wind power GWO talent safety training, further expanding the talent cultivation and training courses, and actively counseling students to obtain the GWO-certified Basic Safety Training (BST) license, so that students can seamlessly engage in offshore wind power marine engineering-related industries after graduation, and to thickly cultivate industrial talents. The program will enable students to seamlessly enter the offshore wind power and marine engineering related industries upon graduation, thus cultivating industrial talents.
According to Mr. Hsu Chieh-Huey, CEO of Taiwan Wind Power Training Center, offshore wind power training centers are currently concentrated in Taichung and Kaohsiung, which makes it inconvenient for practitioners to receive training. Considering that the offshore of Hsinchu and Miaoli is an important wind farm in Taiwan, and that the northern part of Taiwan is home to a large number of people working in the industry, Hi-Shore Energy has decided to cooperate with Chung Hwa University in the establishment of the first wind power training center in Northern Taiwan, which will provide the localization of the training services of wind power industry and enhance the energy of the development of Taiwan's offshore wind power.
Hsu Chieh-hui pointed out that Taiwan is one of the world's few first-class excellent wind farms, and the government plans to reach 15GW of offshore wind power in 2030. According to the report on the estimated demand for professional talents in the offshore wind power industry, 2025 will create 20,000 employment opportunities, with the number of core professionals reaching 2,100; in terms of offshore wind power installation, GWO will be required to train a workforce of about 2.5 people per MW, which is expected to create a labor demand of about 9,000 people in 2024, and a labor demand of 37,500 people in 2030, which will be even higher than in 2030. It is estimated that by 2024, there will be a labor demand of about 9,000 people, and by 2030, there will be a labor demand of as many as 37,500 people.
